Thanks Chag - I'm not all that good with writing reviews, mostly a bunch of BS fillers, or at least I try. LOL
Writing about this Tomahawk was definitely a nice change of pace from the figures though, but was also harder to deal with with the articulations and such. I haven't tackled the Valks for just these reasons, plus I was procrastinating on whether I should do some weathering / line paneling before thaking the photos or to just do a review of it as is from the box. I was going through some of your mecha reviews for inspiration... =P

Man, I know what you mean about preferring reviewing figures over mecha stuff. Back when I still had enough material to rotate weekly between plamo, toys, and figures, I always breathed a sigh of relief when it came to figure weeks. As wonderful as articulation is, it does demand a greater amount of time and creativity from the review -- two qualities that often are in low supply during busier weeks.

Fantastic review, man! You are very informative with your words, and the photos are just stunning. Those smoke effects are brilliant, and even though you say the Tomahawk is a cannon-fodder mech, it sure looks like it means business in these photos with smoke coming out of its cannons. I totally understand that bishoujo figure reviews are way easier on the writer, but trust me when I say that I'll be waiting eagerly for more macross mecha reviews in the future. =D

While I loved Battletech as well, I still prefer Macross. Writing this review really brings back memory playing the PNP Battletech and MechWarrior games though. Word on the street is MechWarrior 5 is being delayed due to legal issues with Harmony Gold/Big West, not sure if that's true or not. If the game ever comes out though, it'll definitely be on my list of things to get. Speaking of the game and terrible leg armour, I think just about every mech had weak leg armor in the game. People always went for the leg shots to disable a mech. lol

I remember playing the Marauder as well, very fast mech - and the Incubus which was fairly close to a Valkyrie in Battroid form. They have the Phoenix though, which was a copy of the VF-1S. =P

The atmospheric effects look awesome, as does the mech. I'll be honest, when I see this, I will forever and always call it the Warhammer, just because of the cover image on the Battletech box set. I only saw about half of the Macross saga of Robotech (stupid Army TV station stopped broadcasting it and replaced it with something dumb, probably something like Rescue Rangers or something) and I don't remember seeing the destroids much in Macross, other than when they were getting blown up in the early episodes; for me, the show was all about the veritechs (valkyries, whatever). In Battletech, however, the Warhammer is the ride of Natasha Kerensky and a bunch of other famous pilots, a 70-ton titan, apart from its terrible leg armor (and all that ammo in the center torso).

I really hope Yamato makes a Glaug, although if they do, I'm going to call it a Marauder, and if I had one, I'd be really tempted to paint it green, just like I'd be really tempted to paint the Tomahawk black with a red spider emblem.
