A figure i don't like at all... neither her face nor the shiny painting. Still we have to admit it's resembling to the character.
The only figure from Volks i have is Miku. But i stay skeptical about the quality of their pvc figure. ^^
Very good review. I feel ill really like your site ;)

I've found Volks to be wildly inconsistent; their Super Robot Wars aren't too polished technically, and I've got one prepainted kit figure (Metatron) that's also not really that great. Then I've got another prepainted kit figure that is my absolute favorite figure.

I've actually tried playing with a DS emulator but the window size was sorta small ... that was a while back though so I don't know if there have been any improvements in that respect. Maybe I ought to look into picking one up sometime though; it's got a lot of RPGs that I'd like to try out.

@Tier: You can always try downloading an emulator version of the game to "try". ;-) It's not just Aschen, when Kaguya, KOS-MOS and others go into their super combo thing, all their animations are pretty nose-bleeding. LOL

And yeah, this is a nice figure, but the paint application wasn't done very well. I don't have other Volks figures aside from this SRW set, so I can't say if this is typical of them or not? Good to hear that she may not be prone to leaning!

I was being lazy about the photos, since I have so many to go through and to catch up on the reviews... but I really adore Aschen's character and thought I just had to go back and do a few more shots. Glad you liked the additional background info - this is one of the very few figures that I have which I know the background of the character. :-P

I wish I could try this game out sometime; I've got the feeling that I'd like it a lot. It's a shame that I've no plans of buying a DS (I'll be getting a PSP in a few months when Persona 3 comes out for it) but seeing the animation of her going into overheat mode (man, that sounds really dirty ...) almost makes me think it'd be worthwhile just for this game and the sequel.

I wish Volks had done a better job with the technical aspects of this figure, since I love the character design; the paint is way too glossy as you said and a bit more definition in her backside would definitely be appreciated. The pose is pretty cool albeit a bit unconventional. She's been on my shelf for a while now and doesn't seem to be showing any signs of leaning, so that's a good thing.

I really like your photos here, it makes me want to reshoot mine since I was kinda clueless about photography when I did mine. And thanks for explaining her character, I always sorta wondered what the deal was with her going from unhappy, clothed robot to cheerful, less-clothed robot during the game's combat sequences.
