AMAZING FIGURE! Cruddy stand The little pegs that connect her to the stand broke off in her foot a few months after i got her. I’m afraid she will never stand again….unless i can somehow get the pegs out of her foot and glue it back onto the stand thingy.

@softz: Yeah, it kinda suck when you miss out on these, especially those that have limited production runs. I wouldn’t mind a banner exchange, but I’ll need a few days to setup the banner sidebar (and create a banner for myself). I’m away on business right now so probably next week.

@Tier: I think I’m getting visitors mainly due to MFC and your site. Now the pressure’s on to keep writing! LOL I definitely like MegaHouse figures, but I think Alter is still my favourite right now. I saw the pic of Klan Klang too, it’s looking good! Although I think her facial expression isn’t as good – it kind of reminds me of the Banpresto Klan Klang that I did a review on earlier. I’m loving the 100mm macro, it’s really sharp, the downside is the crop is tighter and it doesn’t have IS. Even though it can go down to f/2.8, the edges and bokeh becomes [i]really[/i] soft. It’s great if you’re going for focus on a smaller subject, but for these figures it might be blurring too much details at f/2.8. Also at 100mm, you’ll need a steady hand or faster shutter speed, it’s really easy to get a blurry image especially when you’re taking close ups / finer details. An IS would help, but I just can’t afford an IS macro right now.

I clicked on your avatar through Softz blog. No regrets I’m very happy and surprised to discover your photos. Really beautiful.
I also did a review of Ranka lately. MH has become a true value when it comes to figures quality. This Ranka is a proof of this.

I didn’t get a comment on my blog until my 14th figure review, a month and a half after I started writing XD

I usually prefer to dress my figures with as little clothing as possible but the dumpling logo on Ranka’s apron is really adorable. The lustrous paint on the dress is really nice, too, and the dumplings make me want to eat manapua. I wonder if there’s a grocery store around here that carries Hawaiian food.

I do very much like MegaHouse, too; their quality is up there with the best, and they don’t shy away from risque figures, whereas only a few Alter figures have castoff-clothing features, Max Factory seems to do mainly action figures these days, and GSC is basically the Miku Hatsune/Black Rock Shooter merchandise company now. I saw some pictures of the painted Klan Klang figure they showed off at Wonder Festival; she’s looking great (and very, uhh, robustly healthy).

I see you use the 100mm macro lens, do you think it’s a good lens for figure photos? I’m still using using the cheap 50mm lens and I think it’s a pretty good lens, but I’ve heard that the 100mm macro is one of Canon’s best. I’d kinda like to see what a really good lens is capable of.

I think the reason that I’ve not gotten Ranka is because I don’t have Sheryl yet. Due to hesitations, I always miss out.

Yeah, I much prefer Sheryl over Ranka, but I just don’t see how I can have Sheryl figures and not have at least one or two Ranka. This Ranka is definitely one to get if you decide to get a Ranka figure.

When it comes to collecting these figures, it’s hard to be rational…..

I saw your comments at tier’s blog and visited yours. I didn’t own Ranka. Probably because I’d prefer Sheryl more than her. However, after reading several reviews. She seems to be a good choice. Probably, I was trying to be rational I guess. I must admit that you did a good job on the photos. Your photos make her look very cute and the buns (baos) look delicious too. Keep up the good work!
