Reviews Section!

January 28th, 2010 Visual Fanfare No comments

Started writing some reviews which I initially placed here in the blog section. Then I changed my mind and decided to separate my blog and the reviews. I’m liking this setup much more and it keeps the two sections better organized.

Head on over to the Reviews section and have a look – feel free to leave some comments! :-)

Updates…

Well, finally found some time to start updating the site again.  Currently going through some old photos to update the colouring since most of the old post-process were done on my old monitor which wasn’t calibrated.  Man, what a horror that was, now I notice I had quite a few pictures that were overblown and colour burns weren’t blended properly because my old monitor was too dark.  Going through the old pics is actually taking longer than expected.  It’s hard to find the motivation to touch up the photos (or even to work on new ones) since I don’t really feel like touching a computer after I get home from work.  *lol*  Nevertheless, it has to be done.

Currently working with the MacBook Pro again – still not a fan of the mouse movement algorithm.  If Microsoft did one thing right with Windows, it’s the  mouse tracking.  =P

A new beginning…

After going back and forth with myself, I’ve decided to get a new domain name that will be a little more general and personal at the same time.  The first domain was DarkAperture.com which served my personal blog and some photography at the time.  After awhile, I decided to pursue more of a photographic website thus the creation of PeterHPhotography.com (I couldn’t think of any good names, lol).  That didn’t work out so well as my life took a turn and I pretty much stopped pursuing the photographic field.  That’s not to say my interest in photography stopped, it just won’t be my primary career path.  That leads me to think about creating a new website where I can blend personal aspects with my interest in photography.

One of the hardest part of creating a new site is thinking of an URL name, I think it took me a week or two to come up with the current URL.  Most of the ideas I thought of were either taken or parked (on that note, I think parked domains should die a horrible death).  The next part will be to update my current gallery and design a new front page and logo.  I suck at design, so this might take me awhile – I’m still an old school notepad HTML programmer.  LOL

Please bear with me during the construction and creation phase, it’ll take some time.  I’m also searching for suitable themes for my blog and gallery pages, I might stick with the current blog theme though, it’s fairly well done (kudos to the creators).

Thanks and welcome to VisualFanfare.com!
