Yeah, it kind of sucks that they chopped the sofa in half - pehaps there'll be a 2nd piece to this set and the two sofas will be able to combine together! And I thought this sofa was sexy already, but having 2 of them?! YUM!

I'm sorta wondering if I want to pre-order Alphamax's new Mai too, she looks great! And after Spica, I'm willing to put even more faith in Alphamax's quality. But I wish Mai's pose was a little more dynamic, maybe even a fighting pose - she's supposed to be a ninja, but somewhere along the way that concept was lost and she's nothing but a scantily clad sex object with over-sized breasts. =(

I thought long and hard about picking up Spica, but the price deterred me in the end. She looks great, though. Plus she's wearing pants ... there aren't too many anime girls out there who wear pants.

You're right, that sofa is dead sexy. I think any collector would be proud to display such a fine piece of miniature furniture on his or her shelf. Although it looks like someone chopped it in half; maybe it's the new style in interior design to only have one armrest?

This is a very entertaining review, and very timely too, since I was wondering how good Alphamax figures are. I'm thinking about preordering Mai Shiranui but I haven't seen many Alphamax reviews; the only one I can recall was of their older Mai figure, and that review mainly described what happens if you knock Mai to the floor.

Ah thx for the shipping cost info ; )
Yeah fees and taxes are the things which keeps me away from too expensive figures.
well the amiami price for Spica around 129€ would be still ok for me ^^

Yeah, the price was painful - but I think she's really worth it. Plus it's cheaper to get her now rather than later at black market prices (*coughebaycough*). LOL

Shipping to Canada was around $35 EMS from HLJ - don't think the shipping cost was that bad, but it was the brokerag ees + taxes that gets me everytime. =*(

Well, maybe I have it all wrong? Perhaps she's taking off her pants and not putting them on? LOL

I've always liked doing low-key / silhouette type photos, it's pretty apparent in all my other reviews. I think we all look at each others' photos and draw inspiration when we come to a brick wall. Well, I know I do anyway!

Aka did some rally great shots of Horo, but unlike Global's Horo, Spica (face anyway) doesn't look like it fell off the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down. LOL Sorry Aka, but sometimes I still get nightmares from that Horo figure! ^_^'
