COVID-19 Protocols for Unit 143 Tournaments
Revised April 13, 2023
These tournaments will follow ACBL’s COVID-19 Protocols for National, Regional and Sectional Tournaments as revised effective May 15, 2023 available this link:
https://web2.acbl.org/documentLibrary/covid/Covid_Protocols.pdf
ACBL’s revised protocol allows tournament sponsors to decide vaccination requirements. ACBL District 8 deferred to the sponsoring units. On April 12, 2023, Unit 143’s board of directors decided to recommend but not require vaccinations. All other aspects of ACBL’s May 15 2023 protocols remain in place.
The tournaments will also follow St. Louis County and State of Missouri COVID-19 requirements.
Here is a summary of the protocols for these tournaments:
Masks are not required.
If a person at a table asks other players at that table to wear a mask, they must do so. Please bring a mask in case this situation arises. Courtesy masks will be available.
COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are recommended, but not required.
Any person unwilling to fully comply with these protocols will be turned away.
Hand Sanitizers will be available at each table.
These protocols are subject to change. Any changes will be posted on Unit 143’s website at www.unit143.org.

CONDUCT and ETHICS Issues
Most of us want to play the game of duplicate bridge honestly. When you play against
an opponent you suspect is not playing in accordance with the Laws, or violating
the Code of Disciplinary Regulations, please file a Player Memo. This can be found by clicking the "Conduct and Ethics" link under Unit 143 Governance.
You may
also privately text the game director, but making a public accusation is in itself a violation
of the CDR, so please be careful to report suspicious conduct properly.
